Fear

I wonder how many moments in life are wasted because our fear of the future keep up from being alive in the present.

In the midst of fear we fixate on our own emotions. Instead of living or others, or living for God, we carefully tread the waters and seek to rationalize, justify, or simply pacify our own emotions.

Bridge

What is it about the pictures above that scares you the most? Is it the immediate treachery of  the bridge or is it the far off risk of the distant unknown? What happens who you focus of the element you fear?

If your are like me the more you allow yourself to focus on the fear the more in consumes. Every minute you spend looking at that element of fear is a moment you could have spend enjoying the bigger picture.

The Bible tells me that God is not persuaded by fear, because he had written the end of the story. God is referred to as El Elyon, The Most High God. Meaning, he rules over all things, including fear.

In life there are many situations that our human emotion would be justified in reverting to a state of fear however as a believer I know that God promises to never “leave or forsake” me. So when I face a situation of fear I know I am anything but alone. Rather than allowing my fear to consume me I can look to the one who is my “shield and sun”, my protector and provider. He is sufficient.
